March 17 meeting - 7:00 PM
Davie Senior Center
278 Meroney St, Mocksville, NC 27028
The Senior Center is a great place for our meetings - but our guild meetings are open to all
ages - Women and
Men. There are some great Men Quilters in our area.
Quilt Guilds are not only for "expert" quilters - even
though we might have a few of those - our guild is a place for you to meet
quilters of all skill levels - beginners to
experienced. We love to
share our love of quilting with new quilters and those who want to learn to quilt.
Join us at 6:30 for a social time of sharing refreshments and getting to
know one another before our meetings begin. If you can't get here at
6:30, come for our program at 7:00.
March 17 Program
Lorraine Covington
A love of all quilting techniques led to Lorraine’s desire to become a certified judge, passing the tests for that NQA certification in 2001.Lorraine has been honored to judge quilt shows across the country.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Lorraine then lived in Florida for ten years, and now resides in Clemmons, North Carolina with her husband Calvin.
A member of NQA, Lorraine served on the Board as the Certified Judge Coordinator and as the Education Chairperson. Her latest venture is a column for the NQA magazine, the Quilting Quarterly, A Matter of Judgment.
Patti Knoechel (Eleanor Burns' sister)
will be coming back again for our April meeting. Many quilters and surrounding guilds look forward to her visit each year for new patterns and books from Eleanor Burns. Note that this month’s meeting is scheduled for April 7 - not our regular meeting date. Mark your calendar and invite your friends. Patti always has a fun and interesting program.
When is Mrs.Burns coming to Mocksville again? This year? rsweat@yadtel.net is my correct email if someone can let me know please
